Everyone was really nervous prior
to the performance but we all supported each other.
We had a full run through before
the performance and this helped however, It felt more daunting when people
start to arrive. During the performance the amps were really loud and found it
hard to listen to others playing. I feel initially the drum beat was a little
too fast and this made us all speed up more. For the 2nd performance
we need to run through this to ensure the timing is correct.
During the chorus & the Bridge
I was out of time however this still came together fine.
As there are other instruments if
mistakes are made this is easily covered and less noticeable to the crowd. I
feel this issue could be due to finding it hard to hear others on stage.
I have been rehearsing the changing
of keys frequently as this was a worry for me playing rolling in the deep. The
audience reaction sounded very positive this was a good response to both songs.
Things that went well…
·
Tunefulness – Certain notes blend together really
well and complement one another.
·
Harmonic accuracy – On the second verse I play on
the offbeat this is intentional.
Things to improve on…
- Speed
- Quality
- Efficiency
Further
progress…
Preparation
and stress management is key to have a confident approach to the performance.
